Al-Mujadilah Center and Mosque for Women is a center and mosque that offers religious, developmental and social programming to Muslim women of all ages and backgrounds to study, dialogue and worship together.
The center serves as a multi-purpose center accommodating praying, learning and studying facilities. The spaces offered include a library, a gallery, an auditorium and a multi-purpose room. A sustainable design approach was envisaged by Qatar Foundation for this project, which is not limited to achieving green building certifications. The design holistically aimed for a zero-carbon footprint and a green built environment. This goal has been achieved through the implementation of the following:
- Integrative Design Process (IDP).
- The KPI’s of the Sustainability Strategy for Education City, C
- LEED Certification with a target level of LEED Gold.
- GSAS Certification with a target level of 4-Star.
